3)     Dr. Martin Pall is an expert on EMF, and has worked hard to explain to officials and bureaucrats in government,  schools, city councils, and the general public about the mechanisms that cause pulsed microwave radiation to be so harmful. The Colorado Department of Transportation has awarded a $2.75 million contract to a Kansas City company called Integrated Roadways (www.integratedroadways.com) for a pilot “smart pavement” project. It will be installed on a half-mile stretch of U.S. 285 near Fairplay, Colorado south of Breckenridge.

Integrated Roadways is partnering with Kiewit Infrastructure Co., Cisco Systems, WSP Global and Wichita Concrete Pipe for the pilot project.

This is being developed along with 5G as part of the nationwide infrastructure for driverless cars.

Each interlocking slab of smart pavement will contain fiber optic mesh configured similar to a touch screen computer. The pavement will sense the instantaneous position, weight, and velocity of every vehicle on the road. Each slab will also contain antennas under the pavement that will send the data wirelessly to your car.

The smart pavement is supposed to pay for itself by selling apps that also deliver data from the road to the car’s occupants. “Imagine travel, dining, lodging and other services being delivered à la carte to individual drivers on demand,” touts Integrated Roadway on its website. The road itself, says the company, “will become the next Information Super Highway.”

“Once cars do become autonomous, smart pavement unleashes the possibilities of what you can do in the car instead of driving,” said a May 21, 2018 article in the Kansas City Star. “For some, that might be working, while for others, it might be gaming or streaming movies. It could essentially turn your car into a mobile living room.”

5. Conclusions:  . . . In this study we found a high-level damage in trees within the vicinity of phone masts. Preliminary laboratory studies have indicated some deleterious effects of radiofrequency radiation.  However, these early warnings have had no success and deployment has been continued without consideration of environmental impact.

We observed trees with unilateral damage in the radiation field of phone masts.  We excluded the possibility that root injury due to construction work or air pollutants could have caused the unilateral damage.  We found out that from the damaged side there was always visual contact to one or more phone mast(s).  Statistical analyses demonstrated that the electromagnetic radiation from cellphone towers is harmful to trees.  Results show that the measurements in the most affected sides of damaged trees (i.e. those that withstand higher radiation levels) are different to all other groups.  These results are consistent with the fact that damage inflicted on

As I am familiar with the regions where these studies were conducted, I can assure you, that when I lived there, trees were beautiful and full of vigor, and not in the sorry state that they are in today.  20 years ago, when I arrived on the West Coast, coastal trees were once a magnificent sight to behold, and not in such distressing decline as we are witnessing, in virtually every region where cell towers and WiFi hotspots have sprouted.

I invite you to drive about 30 km into the remote mountains, past Hope, such as the Princeton Highway 3, or visit the Strathcona Park on Vancouver Island, look at the beautiful and healthy trees, take photographs.  When you return to the urban jungle, dominated by cell towers, take a look and compare those trees with those far away from cell tower radiation.  You will notice, that the decline of trees extends even into rural areas of the Fraser Valley.  You will be shocked what you will discover, once you know what to look for!

 

The wireless industry will argue that these damages and tree deaths are natural, caused by insects or some other disease.  If this was true, why is the tree damage always noticeable in cell tower radiation areas, and not in the remote wilderness?  Why is the tree damage on the same side as cell towers?

 

Studying the Photographic Evidence Study (above), makes it shockingly clear, that industry, as well as Health Canada, are deliberately misleading the public.  It requires no intellectual brilliance nor a science degree to understand that man and nature is in serious trouble, if this absurd situation is allowed to go on, without governmental intervention!

 

The photographs clearly show significant damage to trees, caused by electrosmog pollution!  How long will politicians and our medical institutions stand by, and continue to allow the wireless industry to diminish our health, the health of our children, as well as the environment?  I sincerely hope that you will be far more vigilant about public health than your predecessor, who chose to ignore the scientific evidence of harm, deeply concerned citizens sent to him through countless letters.

 

Please take the time to read the research and study the photographic evidence of this email, as the biological fallout of electro smog radiation has become undeniable.

2)    A victory in California for 5G resisters.  Verizon has withdrawn its application for 5G microcell approval in Sebastopol, Calif, after some pretty stiff resistance by the public. Voices can be heard. If councils listen, we have achieve some results.  From someone in Calif.

“My neighbours and I have been trying to have a recent cell tower installation modified or removed. The Bell/MTS antenna array, 15.5 metres above ground, is the lowest in a city residential area, situated on the rooftop of a three-storey condo building located on the midst of large old three-storey houses and 25-35 metres distant from a number of these houses. It is the most egregious installation in Winnipeg due to proximity and lateral relationship.

Fortunately, one of the immediate neighbours is a guitar teacher and music producer who works from his backyard studio, a building which is directly in line with one of the three antenna arrays. His amplifiers were picking up data transmission from the antennas and after two months of attempts he was able to get the attention of Bell/MTS, who sent technicians to his studio. He was aware, through a guitar student who is also a CB operator, that interference with existing equipment is unlawful, and the technicians acknowledged that. They shut down the data stream and 4 of the 5 or 6 frequencies, for now. The CB operator knew about the legislation but was not aware of how we could locate it. If you happen to know the source, or someone who might know the legislation, we would greatly appreciate your information.”

Cell phones would come under ISED, formerly Industry Canada, rather than CRTC.  I have never had anyone tell me about interference from cell towers, so I cannot tell you precisely what you should be doing. First I would read http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/R-2/page-1.html    Under the Radio Communication Act it gives this definition:

 

harmful interference means an adverse effect of electromagnetic energy from any emission, radiation or induction that

(a) endangers the use or functioning of a safety-related radiocommunication system, or

 

(b) significantly degrades or obstructs, or repeatedly interrupts, the use or functioning of radio apparatus or radio-sensitive equipment; (brouillage préjudiciable)

interference-causing equipment means any device, machinery or equipment, other than radio apparatus, that causes or is capable of causing interference to radiocommunication; (matériel brouilleur)

 

This is a starting point, and I hope you are successful in getting this removed. Odd, isn’t it, that you might be able to move something that is dangerous not because of your health concerns but rather because it interferes with electrical devices?

It is my understanding that BC Hydro is revisiting the idea of constructing a substation beneath a school stating that this is safe.

 

I must disagree!

 

This is a ludicrous concept that will ultimate lead to illness among the students and staff at this school.  The substation will generate electromagnetic fields and if the levels are above 3 mG in the school environment, the risk of childhood cancers are likely to increase according to IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer), an arm of the World Health Organization.  I suggest you read their monograph on low frequency electromagnetic fields as a class 2B carcinogen.

Also, there is evidence of impaired sperm at 1.6 mG magnetic flux density.

 

Furthermore, should the magnetic fields be higher than 3 mG then there is the risk of adult cancers (brain tumours, breast cancer, and leukaemia at 10 mG) and miscarriages (at 16 mG).

 

Some people have developed a sensitivity to electromagnetic fields and electromagnetic radiation and are electro-hyper-sensitive (EHS).  Should you have Wi-Fi in the school environment or be near cell phone antennas the risk of developing cancers and EHS increases.  Radio frequency radiation is also classified as a class 2B carcinogen.  See IARC monograph below:

Surely the New Yorker knows a competent, fearless investigative science reporter (like the celebrated Paul Brodeur) who understands the hazardous – but historically suppressed – non-thermal effects of electro-magnetic field (EMF) radiation? Distinguished non-industry scientists say that non-thermal EMFs promote and/or cause autism, ADHD, leukemia, brain tumors and virtually every form of cancer, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS, miscarriages, birth deformities, suicides, depression, memory problems, etc. Yet U.S., Canadian and other Western radiation regulatory agencies all say that only thermal effects can be harmful to humans. This dishonesty enables this cabal of corrupt agencies to aggressively exploit obscenely profitable – but highly dangerous – products, such as ‘smart’ meters, cell phones, cordless phones, Wi-Fi routers, Bluetooth, GPS, baby monitors, etc., and industry’s impending, terrifying ‘5G’ technology – all of which emit hazardous non-thermal EMF radiation!

Notwithstanding Paul Brodeur’s three excellent books: ‘The Zapping of America’; ‘Currents of Death’; and ‘The Great Power-Line Cover-up,’ scientists today say that we are all guinea pigs in what amounts to the largest technological experiment – ever – in human history, without either our knowledge or consent!

3)    Thanks to some help from the Union of BC Municipality, Hudson’s Hope is seeing the financial benefit of making its own power. Community- or neighbourhood-owned solar systems could help many to cut ties with Hydro/FortisBC, thus realizing major savings as costs for electricity continue to rise and will do so, especially with expensive, wasteful projects like smeters and Site C.

We request that the BC Provincial Health Officer provide the public with an official response to the findings of the US National Toxicology Program Expert Panel who concluded that there is “Clear Evidence of Carcinogenic Activity” and the association of cancer in the heart and brain and cell phone radiation.  This is serious health and safety matter that will cause permanent damage to thousands of children in all our public schools. Currently it is mandatory that our children be exposed RF Microwave Radiation  with no way to shield themselves from this full body radiation, much like the rats used in this study.

Parents have been robbed of their right to decide if this chronic exposure, an established 2B carcinogen listed next to lead, DDT, methyl mercury, chloroform, and car exhaust is an acceptable risk or whether precautionary measures should be implemented given there is alternative simple solution.

More and more schools are applying a ‘No cell phone’ policy during school hours due to distractions that negatively impact learning. This has made a huge impact on the reduction of radiation exposure our children are experiencing in our classrooms.  However, the removal of the industrial strength Wi-Fi routers should implemented immediately and return to hard-wired Internet, which is faster, cheaper, more reliable, more secure and safer than wireless networks.

For as little as a one time cost of $500 US dollars every classroom would be provided with 40 Ethernet ports plus adapters for their wireless devices, costing about $20 per child, a small price to pay compared to brain surgery, chemotherapy, radiation treatments etc.

As the Provincial Health Office you have a duty to take reasonable steps to reduce wireless radiation in our schools given the overwhelming amount of evidence of harm that concerned parents have submitted.

In January 1998, The Wingspread Conference held a three-day academic conference where the Precautionary Principle was defined. Health is a Provincial Jurisdiction. Your duty and obligation as the Provincial Health Officer and as a Doctor is to implement the Precautionary Principle by honouring your Hippocratic Oath, “nil nocere” to do no harm and protect our children from this health crisis.

All schools now employ industrial wireless networks, exposing students and staff to ubiquitous microwave radiation without any way to shield or avoid this mandatory exposure. Parents have never been informed of the health risks or given their written consent to expose their children to microwave radiation in our schools. School Districts have refused to educate students, parents and staff on how to avoid excessive RFR exposure when handling wireless devices during class time as outlined in user manuals, requirements mandated by law.

Vancouver Island School Boards have shifted the responsibility of potential lawsuits caused by this wireless technology to their School Medical Health Officer, Dr. Stanwick, who has endorsed the installation of a known 2b carcinogen in our schools and is unable to provide parents with any peer reviewed studies stating the safety of radiation exposure. Dr. Stanwick then shifted “the responsibility for professional oversight” to the Provincial Health Officer.

The BC Ministry of Education has stated they set educational standards, allocates funds and monitors student achievement but decisions regarding the planning and delivery of supports and services for all students are the responsibility of local boards of education and school district administrators. This includes decisions around exposure to RF frequencies and the use of WiFi in the classroom setting.

The Health Minister Philpott was also unable to provide parents with peer reviewed studies stating the safety of Wifi safety in our schools and has instead relied on Health Canada’s Safety Code 6 exposure “guidelines.”

But on February 20, 2013, James McNamee, scientist for Health Canada, admitted in the Superior Court of Quebec, that the Safety Code 6 guideline for microwave radiation emitting from wireless technology is based ONLY on thermal effects, heating of the skin. On page 3, inside the Safety Code 6 document it states, “These guidelines apply to all individuals working at, or visiting, federally regulated sites and may also be adopted by the provinces, industry or other interested parties.” Schools are not federally regulated sites and, therefore, SC 6 does not apply to wifi in schools. The fact that the provinces may Adopt SC 6 means that the provinces are free to set their own guidelines.

In a report by Dr. Martin Pall he discusses Ken Foster and John Moulder, 2 industry affiliated scientists who, for years, have argued that there is no evidence of harm from exposure to microwave radiation. These 2 “bent” scientists have been on Health Canada panels and reviewed Safety Code 6, stating it is protective of non-thermal effects, when it applies to thermal effects only. Tim Singer from Health Canada responded to a letter concerning the radiation levels in our schools by stating, Health Canada is aware of concerns related to Wi-Fi in schools, such decisions are not within Health Canada’s mandate. We recommend that you continue to consult your local school board or provincial authority to discuss your concerns.

The finger pointing has now gone full circle and it is obvious that Provincial Health Officer will be held accountable for willfully ignoring the overwhelming amount of scientific proof of harm.

Parents want to exercise their right to protect their children from harm and are calling on you to take immediate action to mitigate the risk and inform the School Boards throughout the province of the established health risks associated with long term exposure to microwave radiation by recommending the use of hard wired connections to access the Internet in our schools.

The burden of proof should not be put upon the public to prove that it’s unsafe, but upon the industry to prove it is safe.

Within the last year, two remarkable studies pertaining to microwave radiation, one of which was rated as first class even by the American Cancer Societies, have been completed and reports have been released.

1)    The National Toxicology Project.  A 10 year $25 million study which was devoted to studying cell phone radiation.

2)    Ramazzini Institute’s study on Base Station/Cell tower Radiation. It also was a 10 year project.

The studies took different approaches. The NTP dealt with higher levels of exposure emitted by cell phones held close to the body while the exposures used in the Ramazzini study were far lower – the same to which we are exposed in our everyday environment.

The results were identical: serious biological effects which included increases in brain tumors (especially glioblastomas) and in rare cancerous heart tumors (schwannomas).

1)   A member advised that Telus will be hosting an information session on “new emerging technologies benefitting communities”  in Maple Ridge on May 28, 5:30-7:30 pm.  It will be in the Conference Room at The Act, 11944 Haney Place. 2)   A fire that the fire dept says was started by the smeter fortunately burned 2 homes but no one was injured. I will attempt to find out what type of smeter it was, but it is hard to determine in Ontario. The info I was able to find showed a Sensus meter by Barrie’s utility company, but these smeters were removed from much of Ontario after a few fires.  If I can confirm the type I will let you know.

Thanks for this information.

 

May 28 is the day after tomorrow, hardly time to prepare. My knowledge of FTTP/small cells is limited, Ted is more knowledgeable, and Chris very knowledgeable. Fibre is good news, but I think they run it to the telephone pole then irradiate the neighbourhood with 5G after that point. That is very bad news. Like smart meters, they want this done before anyone knows anything about it.

 

I question why a ‘non disclosure’ agreement was needed (for whose protection?) and why closed meetings are being held on a topic of vital concern to all. Maybe we have abandoned any pretense of being a democracy.

 

Why did Telus ‘baulk’ at going to a public ‘consultation’? If their technology is safe, whatever would they be afraid of? And why is this meeting no longer a ‘consultation’ but an ‘information session’? I assume it will be another one-way good news session where no questions on health are permitted.

 

The city should demand proof of personal liability insurance from Telus regarding their wireless products. My understanding is the largest insurance companies in the world, who employ the best actuarial research teams in the world, will not insure wireless products. They compare wireless to asbestos, with a similar latency period. If you examine the annual reports of many U.S. wireless providers (search the https://ehtrust.org/ website for details) they are warning their shareholders of possible losses from impending lawsuits. The move to co-locate antennas onto City property or right-of-ways may be an industry tactic to share impending legal liability (see Harry Lehman letters   https://ehtrust.org/national-security-threat-from-5g-attorney-harry-v-lehmann-warns-senator-dianne-feinstein-in-march-22-2018-letter/ ). Throughout the USA states are preempting the rights of Cities to right-of-ways so they can deploy their for profit technologies before any health testing can be done.  Industry knows their time window for deployment is limited.

 

The latest consensus from independent science and the best, most recent and most extensive studies ever done (National Toxicology Program study, French CERENAT study, Italian Ramazzini study) show a definite correlation with cancer and other tumors and effects. Brain tumors in the UK have doubled in the last twenty years. But you have to search for this information. Health Canada and our Public Health Office are ‘captured agencies’ and in the service of the wireless industry, as they were with tobacco and asbestos for 50 years. You have to be willing to see through the deceptions and lies at work here at every level, and think for yourself. I don’t think the City wishes to do that. It’s easier to follow the crowd. But the crowd is going to lead the City to the courtroom, and the City will not be able to prove it ‘didn’t know’. If the city permits this technology to be released on unwilling participants, I suspect the ultimate probability of litigation against the City is in the order of 100%. This is really not difficult. It’s intentionally extremely complex, but in essence it is simple. Wireless is not a safe technology. There is no proof of safety, and undeniable evidence of harm. There is not, and will never be scientific consensus on this. 100% proof resides only in logic and mathematics, not science. There is no scientific proof that smoking causes lung cancer. But you have to ask… would any reasonable person, who investigates the area of wireless health effects in depth, come to a conclusion of probable harm? And the answer is absolutely yes. There is no other possible outcome any intelligent and unbiased person could come to, unless they actively allow themselves to be deceived. I’m sorry about that. I have nothing against Telus personally and no interest in impeding anyone, but this is an active assault on the health of an entire population. The City wants to be seen as a technology leader. It we produced a safe cellular technology we would be, and the world would beat a path to our door. But first we have to have the courage to look directly at the problem.

 

If Telus wanted to partner with the City in handing out asbestos on every street corner, would the City say yes to that? Telus needs to go away and produce a safe product. If they ran fibre directly to every home, the problem would be solved. People like me would go away and shut up, and the City could rest assured it has done the right thing. But I suspect Telus can make a lot more money with wireless than with fibre, and they don’t give a damn about public health. It’s easier to flood the airwaves with another propaganda blitz of furry little animals telling us what a nice and kind and caring company they are.

 

I’m sure some of us will show up Monday and go through the motions once again. I’ll leave it to you if you want to share this email with the other council members, I think they are all pretty tired of me, as I’m tired of the lack of leadership shown on this topic. If we focus on the health effects, the right path will appear. But Telus will try to focus us everywhere else but there, for obvious reasons.

1)    Monsanto’s use of a “probable” carcinogen in Roundup is similar to the telecom’s use of microwave radiation. Science has been twisted and knowledge of harm has been hidden from its customers. What we need are some good lawsuits, and they are coming. It will be interesting to see who the “experts” are who testify that Roundup is safe. I bet there will be some familiar names from ‘product defense’ companies like Exponent, the company that testifies everywhere that microwave radiation is safe, that it is more dangerous to sleep with your spouse (you will be exposed to more radiation) than to sleep next to a smeter.  (Yes, they said this!!)

Landmark lawsuit claims Monsanto hid cancer danger of weedkiller for decades

“The lawsuits challenge Monsanto’s position that its herbicides are proven safe and assert that the company has known about the dangers and hidden them from regulators and the public. The litigants cite an assortment of research studies indicating that the active ingredient in Monsanto’s herbicides, a chemical called glyphosate, can lead to NHL and other ailments. They also cite research showing glyphosate formulations in its commercial-end products are more toxic than glyphosate alone. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified glyphosate as a probable human carcinogen in 2015.

Monsanto “championed falsified data and attacked legitimate studies” that revealed dangers of its herbicides, and led a “prolonged campaign of misinformation” to convince government agencies, farmers and consumers that Roundup was safe, according to Johnson’s lawsuit.

2)    Testing of 5G milliwave transmitters in the US is showing that the beam forming (which results in very strong signals that go very far) is working, and will penetrate into and reflect off of buildings. This means it is worse than we initially thought and will be extremely dangerous to all living things.

3)    New internet-connected power grids are much more vulnerable than are older systems that were stand alone.  And “smart” devices like smeters, appliances, etc. are the door into the grid.

Cybersecurity and the distributed grid: A double-edged sword

Hackers are becoming increasingly sophisticated in their attempts to disrupt electric grids. Attacks are more targeted, including spear phishing efforts aimed at individuals, and are shifting from corporate networks to include industrial control systems.

At the same time, the grid is becoming increasingly distributed and connected. Older power plants have been spared cyber attacks because they were not connected to the internet (which may not have existed when they were built). New resources are connected — though they are also being constructed with security in mind. And in this growing Internet of Things world, just about every device imaginable can create a potential vulnerability…

The report also found the energy industry is “learning important lessons from the high profile, and high impact, attacks that have affected a large number of users in the United States during the past two years.” AEEI noted that several attacks have used internet-connected devices “such as baby monitors, webcams, and other smart home devices.””

3)     Non-smeters.    Federal government blocked the sale of a major construction company involved with Site C from being sold to a Chinese company involved with cybersecurity.  Now if they will remove all Huawei transmitters and cancel the Site C contract with this company.

The federal government has blocked the sale of Canadian construction company Aecon Group Inc. to Chinese interests, the office of Innovation Minister Navdeep Bains has confirmed.

The controversial deal between Aecon and China’s CCCC International Holding Ltd., also known as CCCI, would have been worth $1.5 billion.

“As is always the case, we listened to the advice of our national security agencies throughout the multi-step national security review process under the Investment Canada Act,” Bains said in a statement.

“Based on their findings, in order to protect national security, we ordered CCCI not to implement the proposed investment.”

Cities, carriers strike compromise over 5G technology

“Legislation to limit local control over equipment placement was tacked on as an amendment to a bill that regulated pet shops, Senate Bill 331, that passed during the Legislature’s lame-duck session at the end of 2017. That bill also banned cities from raising their minimum wage.

Many communities were unhappy with what they saw as the state setting standards for what are called small-cell wireless antennas. The cities believed that SB 331 severely limited their ability to regulate where small cell towers could be located and what they could look like. They saw it as an infringement on their home rule powers.

The cities believed SB 331 would have allowed telecommunications companies to attach new wireless equipment to existing light poles, traffic signals or sign poles along public streets or construct a new pole or modify an existing pole that has wireless equipment.”

4)    Solar power is growing in popularity in all parts of the US, with projects ranging from single family units to larger units providing distributed power to many homes. The costs are coming down, and the utilities should be worried if they don’t adjust.

3)    Cell towers are still being erected in the midst of settled residential neighbourhoods, for example the one in Langford.  There are many studies that show that people do not want to buy homes near a cell tower, or if they are willing, the price would have to be dramatically reduced.  Many anticipate that having a microcell outside a home will have the same result. Certainly it is possible that if people have a choice between a home with one mere feet from a bedroom or one without, the home without the microcell would be preferred.  Most people are not aware that ISED’s policy allows for more than one transmitter to be put on the same pole or building without any notice or consultation. As well, the height of the pole can be extended without notice. Once these microcells are outside our homes, we lose all control over the amount of radiation is emitted by any number of transmitters.

4)    Advice for parents and teachers for protecting children from exposure to wifi in schools and elsewhere. This info should be shared widely, and, hopefully, teachers, school board trustees, principals, and the minister of education will get involved. It’s time to work to have schoolrooms (and homes) safer next Sept.

1)    Some of our members put together the letter that is below in “Letters”, with two attachments, related to the issue of micro cell installations in our communities. This recently went out to all municipalities in B.C. If you wish to support this awareness raising endeavour please see the third attachment. This concise, already formatted letter on the health concerns of EMR is ready to be sent to your municipal, provincial and federal representatives. It just requires you to address it and sign it. Coincidentally (?) his best friend also had cancer – and they both attend a school that has a cell tower on the property. And the school just renewed the contract.  How many more children will suffer so that telecoms can profit? They target places that need money, like schools, churches, hospitals, senior citizens homes. These companies are vultures.

Letters:

Dear Mayors and Councillors,

Last fall Citizens for Safe Technology (CST) sent the attached letter (PDF above) regarding Resolution B100 that called for land use authorities and the public to be consulted when microcells are placed within 100 metres of schools, hospitals, and residences. In March 2018 we were informed that this resolution did not make it on to the upcoming FCM Agenda. The FCM Board categorized it as Category E – Resolutions that have been considered by FCM in the previous three years and that are not in accordance with existing FCM policy. Those involved with CST are deeply disappointed with the FCM’s board decision and are confounded to say the least being as their website states they are committed to being an advocate for local governments on issues that fall under federal jurisdiction, safeguarding municipal interests with respect to Rights of-Way, and making the antenna siting process responsive to community needs.

We think they made this decision because they mistakenly think the resolution’s mandate has been dealt with by the creation of the revised Antenna Siting Procedure with CWTA in April 2014. That procedural change doesn’t address microcells which remain exempt from consultation and are different than the large cell towers the 2014 revision was addressing. Microcells expose citizens, at close proximity, to unsafe levels of radiofrequency radiation. These microcells will allow for broadcasting the untested 5G millimeter waves with phased array antennas. These antennas increase power and distance emitting waves that penetrate skin, eyes and more. (Ref. #1 below) In the last few months two long term studies have been published  indicating conclusively that wireless is a carcinogen causing cancer. (Ref. #2 & #3) And just recently the International Society of Doctors for Environment [ISDE] published and appeal for a moratorium on 5G Networks. (Ref. #4) To learn more about this new technology please see the attached point by point analysis, by one of our members, to the provincial government’s  response to Resolution B100. The telecommunication industry’s strides forward have outpaced the government’s ability to keep up with appropriate safety regulations and hence the need for the discussions that Resolution B100 would have brought to the table regarding safer installation practices for electromagnetic radiation emitting devices.  In April we sent a letter to the mayor and council of Grand Forks to thank them for their visionary leadership role in drafting the resolution and in getting it passed at both the AKBLG and the UBCM.

We must find safer ways to provide the convenience consumers desire without compromising public health. Safer technology is possible. Fiber optics connected directly to the premises , with no wireless transmitters involved in the network, offer the safest, fastest connectivity available – faster even than 5G. We could emulate a pilot project done in France which installed low power small cells for cellular communication in non-residential zones only.

It is clear that there is a need to create a more responsive, current, and comprehensive telecommunications policy in Canada so that in 10-15 years time we don’t have a public health epidemic caused by the inappropriate siting of microcells. Think how cigarettes were marketed. Big tobacco did its job for its shareholders and the telecoms are doing theirs now.  We appreciate the number of issues you deal with on a daily basis and realize it is impossible to keep up with them all.  Perhaps you could assign someone on staff or a volunteer from a health and safety committee to research this issue. We hope you will do whatever you can at the municipal level to work toward a safer environment for all!  Thank you for the time and energy you spend on improving the lives of your constituents across the province.

1)    Attached is a very important paper about milliwaves written by Dr. Om Gandhi in 1986. He reported damage to the eye, and warned of other potential biological effects.  He sent this to Dr. Devra Davis and shared it with others, with this note. 2)    Non-EMR. A man was killed by an exploding e cigarette.  This brought to mind the fact that smeters have exploded off homes, most often during a power surge. 1)    Cyberattacks are occurring with greater frequency, and are often aimed at the critical infrastructures, like the electrical grid which is extremely vulnerable. The US has done little and recently fired its cybersecurity head, and it is likely that Canada has done even less. It seems that BC is completely blind to the threat or else why would they allow the Chinese company Huawei to install their transmitters in microcells outside our homes or to build critical parts of the electrical system for Site C? 3)    Another article by BN Frank, and this one hits the nail on the head. For decades science has warned that wireless radiation is dangerous, and the agencies responsible for protecting us have ignored it – allowing, even promoting industry to sell more cell phones, erect more cell towers, put wifi in schools, even shoot radiation into our homes if we want electricity. Science continues to show how this is done and to learn that even very short exposures to low levels of EMR can cause harm. Yet nothing is done. The World Health Organization is filled with industry people saying all is well. Health Canada and the Cancer Societies say the WHO says EMR is safe, and our provincial health officers happily follow suit. Shameful. Nothing ever changes. And it has become clear it is up to us – we have to protect future generations and our environment.

4)    With all the reports of rates of brain cancers increasing, I am still unable to find any agency that is tracking this in Canada. In fact, the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada says:

“The Canadian medical system does not track statistics on primary brain tumours. Complete and accurate data is needed to facilitate the research that will lead to a better understanding of this disease and improved diagnosis and treatment.”

If cancers are not tracked by type, by age, etc, the industry (and the Cancer Societies) can say that there is no evidence that the number of brain cancers is increasing. If they won’t look, they can’t find. I was told by one expert that the best we can do is look at the statistics from the US.  It is hard to understand why oncologists wouldn’t be tracking cancers, and if they are, where is this information filed?

Investigation into Wifi smart meters! posted May 17/18

1)    Arthur Firstenberg is raising the alarm about the condition of the earth, which, in his opinion, is dire, and will get worse if the thousands of satellites are allowed to encircle it, emitting RF signals everywhere all the time.

Between 2001 and now, our skies have not essentially changed. Iridium and Globalstar, operating 66 and 40 satellites respectively, are still the only providers of satellite phones. The amount of data raining on us all from space is still dominated by those two fleets. The predicted fleets of thousands of satellites have not materialized. But they are about to now, unless we stop them. Everything we know and love is at stake—not just hawks and geese, pigeons and race horses, not just the human race, but life itself. This is a mortal threat not just to our children and grandchildren, but to all of us, immediately, within two years.

The biggest threats are from Boeing, OneWeb, and SpaceX, all of which have similar applications before the FCC. SpaceX’s 12,000 satellites will operate in two constellations, at 700 miles and 210 miles in altitude. They will operate at millimeter wave frequencies and they will be phased arrays. Each satellite will have thousands of antenna elements that will aim focused, steerable beams at any desired point on the surface of the earth. Each beam from the 4,425 satellites already approved at the 700-mile height would have a maximum effective radiated power of up to 8,800 watts. The revised application for 12,000 satellites is requesting an increase to 5,000,000 watts per beam (for the upper constellation of 4,425 satellites) and 500,000 watts per beam (for the lower constellation of 7,518 satellites). The satellites will communicate both with individual users and with gateway earth stations, of which there will be several hundred just in the United States.”

2)    More and more often we’re hearing of people, of all ages, being diagnosed with glioblastomas. Many studies have linked glios to cell phone use, but no public health agency, including Health Canada and the various cancer societies, have put out public warnings, asked for labels to be put on cell phones, or even tracked them.  It seems that a cone of silence, generated by the telecom industry, has been put over this devastating disease to protect the profits of the wireless companies, even at the risk of causing suffering by many. In this article a victim asks for new research to help treat this brain cancer, with no mention of a very well documented cause – cell phones.

3)    We should be very concerned about cybersecurity issues arising in the US that could affect us and our infrastructures.  1) Trump’s admin has removed the head position of the cybersecurity division and 2) Trump has decided that the Chinese firm ZTE, the company that makes much of the software used in transmitters and other infrastructure electronics used both in the US, is to be promoted even though it has been found to have threatened the integrity and security of major systems. Another Chinese firm, Huawei, has been accused of hacking and espionage yet is still being used in BC (and perhaps across Canada) to provide transmitters for infrastructure (microcells) and electronics for major projects like Site C.

4)    A man in the UK has suffered headaches ever since smeters were installed on his home. Father-of-six Neil Whitfield, 60, claims heavy mobile phone use in the late 1990s caused a deadly growth.

His job meant using a phone for long spells – and in the days before it was illegal he had the gadget pressed to his ear while driving.

Neil developed an acoustic neuroma tumour on a nerve between his inner ear and brain.

He was left deaf in one ear after surgery in 2001 to remove a growth the size of a golf ball. He also suffers with balance problems.”

3)    This article explains well how those who dispute the science regarding EMR think, how they justify saying things like there is no evidence of harm. Whether they ignore the science and mislead due to ignorance or conflicts of interest, they take the same approach, assuming (in many cases correctly) that most people are willing to take their word for it and not do their own research.  That is how Health Canada and Dr. Perry Kendall justify their doing nothing in the face of strong evidence that by doing so, many people, especially children, will suffer the consequences.

4)    In the US, the ACLU (America Civil Liberties Union) is concerned about the gathering and use of private data, not needed for billing purposes, by utilities via smeters.

We are the tree kingdom. In days of old, we have been called your dryads and naiads (for we support the trees). For we are in your stories of folklore, but please know that yes, we are very much real, and that yes, we have been watching over you earth ones for such a long time. For before the dark ones came, landing hard on our surface, we communicated with our earth humans quite easily, effortlessly. For we were all one living, breathing organism of light, of love, of creation, of hope, of purpose, of the new creation song that was singing its song through this sector of our universe. Our heartbeats were one with the humans, and we worked together, sharing energy, sharing light, sharing a common purpose.

We trees store memories, like your whale friends store memories within Gaia’s deep oceanic depths. We trees see. We anchor light codes, we remember. We recall how things used to be with our human friends and we delight in the thrill of this return of humanity’s remembrance of their purpose and of their union with Source. We speak in the whispers of the wind through our leaves if you but stop a bit, and rest, and listen. If you tap into our calming deep anchoring into Mother Gaia, you too will feel grounded. Anchor them into your heart of hearts and allow the crystalline change deep within the cellular structure of your DNA to break apart the hardened bits, the pain that may surround your image of motherhood, or loss of children, or loss of your earthly mother.

I assure you children, that I am always here for you. You are my precious angels in form. I was there when your soul spark was born with a great laugh and light burst. I was there! You are a fundamental part of me. Just as I am a fundamental part of you, deep within your precious being. I know every toe, every finger, every hair, every tear, every laugh, every joy and every earthly sorrow. I know you. I see you. Now it is time to truly see with the eyes of the mother through your heart. A mother sees her children in their pain and nurtures, protects, encourages, loves. Do the same to those around you. 4) On Wed. at the hearing for the CIA Director Gina Haspel, there was one question about cybersecurity.  Ms. Haspel mentioned that Huawei, the Chinese company that has developed the transmitters installed in the microcells throughout BC, and perhaps Canada, and is working directly on Site C, is a security risk. (Sorry, I do not know where in her testimony). Why is BC doing business with this company, especially on our infrastructure?  Warnings have been given from all of the US intelligence agencies.

“Add to this the fact, that citizens, who do not want a digital water meter, can refuse an installation, without giving a reason,”  he argued for the removal of the transmitting meters.  With one voice, the representatives of the member communities followed this suggestion.

“That does not mean that we will begin immediately with the meter exchange.  Only after the expiry of the (2 year)warranty, the meters will be replaced with analogs.  The counters of the transmitting meters still work, without issues.” added Schropp.

The meter reading methods are currently being checked.  Favoured is clearly the meter reading by the consumer.  If this is through postcard, telephone, per e-mail or app, remains to be determined. If a consumer is not complying in their duty to report, a bill will follow, based on estimates. “In any case, it will follow a path, that does not induce costly expenses” closed Schropp this subject.

Environmental Consciousness posted May 9/18

I’ve written in previous newsletters that you and I are incredibly blessed because we are part of the greatest revolution in history: The Consciousness Revolution.

This revolution has come none too soon. Because humans are navigating our fragile space station, Earth, towards disaster, it is imperative that we reboot our navigational systems – our consciousness and perceptions about what it means to be human on this planet.

Many years ago, as I’ve written in several of my books, my life was saved and forever changed by plants served by a Shuar shaman deep in the Amazon rain forest. I’d never heard of ayahuasca at that time. All I knew was that it had a profound impact on my consciousness. For me, the most important thing I learned that first night and many afterwards, as I trained to be an ayahuasca shaman, is that plants have a consciousness and they are insisting on sharing it with us humans.

Plants teach us to alter objective reality by changing our perceptions of reality, making the impossible become possible – to shapeshift. Just as a tiny seed breaks through cement, we can break through the ‘cement’ that has imprisoned us in destructive patterns – individually and globally.

In recent years, ayahuasca has become popular in many parts of the world. While I have deep appreciation for the plants that are used to concoct the tea that is ayahuasca, I also am concerned that many who partake are missing the real point: Plants – all plants – are our teachers. They do not have to be ingested or transport us to hallucinogenic states in order to teach.

Some plants teach us about art (roses, tulips).  Some teach about nutrition (avocados, almonds). Some about healing injuries and diseases (aloe, turmeric). Some teach us respect for nature (poison ivy, thorns). Some about consciousness (ayahuasca, San Pedro). Every plant is a teacher if we are just willing to listen.

Plants, like the seed that breaks through cement, empower us to do what the Shuar and other indigenous shamans refer to as “touching the jaguar.” We confront our obstacles, our blockages, and use the energy of those obstacles to make the “impossible” become possible.

When I was in school, everyone I knew – except my parents and grandmother who were plant lovers –  scoffed at the idea that plants had consciousness. The plants themselves have since shown us otherwise. A few of many examples:

• Plants illustrate that energy, nutrition and everything needed for life can be created directly from water, air, and sunshine in the sustainable processes known as photosynthesis.

• Scientists at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) discovered that plants in the wild medicate against pain by emitting methyl salicylate – a form of aspirin. (1)

• Research published in the journal Oecologia conclude that plants warn each other against predators and potential enemies. A plant network receives external signals of impending danger and transmits it to other members of the network. (1)

• Studies indicate that some plants emit chemicals that deter herbivores from eating them. (1)

• Experiments have shown that plants learn to use musical scales and are able to make music with the use of a synthesizer. (2)

It seems that, during this moment in history when our space station is starting to spin out of control, the plants have stepped forward to help us save ourselves – and them. Our scientists are legitimizing plant intelligence and confirming that they not only have consciousness but can also help us touch the jaguars that have kept us caged in unsustainable life-styles. Plants are becoming our allies in making the transition into global systems that are themselves renewable resources.

This coming August, I’ll facilitate “Sacred Plants: Touching the Jaguar,” a course at the Omega Institute in New York. This experiential workshop will be held inside the Omega Center for Sustainable Living (OCSL), a place where plants turn the used and dirty water of the entire campus into potable water. It is an example of transforming “it can’t be done” to “it is done” – through the teachings of plants.

In January 2019, I will guide people to plant shamans on a trip, “Raising Consciousness – Magical Plants in the Costa Rican Jungle.” Although I’ve been taking people to Latin American shamans since the late 1980s, this is the first time to this amazing place of enchanted plants, in one of Costa Rica’s most impressive primary forests. Participants will have the opportunity to experience ayahuasca and delve deep in plant consciousness.

Also, in January I’ll be teaching at Rythmia in Costa Rica, a healing center/spa where ancient traditions are combined with modern healing techniques. Ayahuasca is not only used as a sacred teacher plant but is also studied; statistics are kept about its impacts on participants so that records can be used in scientific studies.

I look forward to meeting some of you at one of these venues. We will employ shamanic journeys and other consciousness-raising approaches to help us communicate with and learn from the plants. For those of you who can’t do any of these or join one of my other trips, please take the time to get to know your teacher plants – inside your home, in nearby gardens, fields, or forests. Appreciate them. Learn from them. Let them help you touch your jaguars, rise to higher consciousness, and transform yourself and the world.

3)    The World Health Organization’s EMF Project has been planning on a complete review of scientific evidence but the people who had been named to the panel were, for the most part, industry affiliated people who also were on ICNIRP’s panels. The result of their draft document was as predicted, and independent scientists/experts who were allowed to submit comments complained that the evidence considered was cherry-picked and the recommendations were not consistent with the solid evidence showing serious harm. Now, according to this article, the WHO is reconsidering the approach and there is hope that perhaps the resulting report will reflect the actual science.  We can only hope that the complaints by very senior experts and many others about WHO’s failure will result in a protective decision.

Receiving scripted replies from governmental aids, is nothing short of an insult, as it implies, that we the public, are ignorant fools.

Over the last 8 years, I have read countless, peer reviewed science documents, regarding the dangers of non-ionizing radiation in two languages, and can say with certainty, that I am far more informed on this subject than Minister Bains and his uninformed aids.

Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is indeed a captured agency, where corporate lobbyists set the tone.

I have first-hand experience of the suffering that electro sensitive people have to endure, on a daily basis, as my wife has been struggling with this agonizing man-made affliction, for almost 9 years.

I am fully aware, that government officials will not acknowledge any biological harm, because it would immediately open a floodgate of law suits, as they were negligent in public health protection, by allowing untested technology to be imposed on the unsuspecting public, through WiFi, Cell towers, and now 5G microcells to be released on the population, without any prior biological testing.

In violation of the Rio Declaration of 1992 and the Nuremberg Code, the Government of  Canada, is conducting unauthorized human experiments, on a monumental scale, in collusion with the wireless industry.

Exposing the uninformed population to biologically active, non-ionizing, microwave radiation pollution, through Public WiFi, cell towers, smart meters, and now 5G microcells, is revolting.

Most shockingly, these biological unauthorized experiments extend to schools and even hospitals, where children, severely ill and frail elderly patients are fighting for their lives!

Not long ago, Health Canada endorsed asbestos, formaldehyde and DDT and considered AIDS a minor event.

Today, this very same incompetent, captured government agency, is once again failing Canadians most miserably, by endorsing, biologically active, untested wireless technology, by relying on the archaic Safety Code 6, which was intensely criticized by international science, as “non-protective”.

 

This absurd reliance on Safety Code 6 allows corporations free and uncontrolled reign, irradiating people in their homes, workplaces, schools, hospitals and every public place imaginable, with biologically untested technology, absent of meaningful governmental scrutiny.

 

SC6, was originally intended for short visits of workers to industrial sites and was never intended for chronic, 24/7, radiation exposure, of the unborn, mothers and children, the frail and elderly, by a known toxic agent, penetrating homes, schools, and hospitals, without consent!

When have children’s bedrooms and classrooms, become industrial sites?

 

Twenty three thousand (23.000) peer reviewed studies, proving adverse biological effects are dismissed by this government!

4)    Samsung has just been given approval by the FCC in the US, for a new 5G router that uses milliwave frequencies. In its application it states that it must be at least 8 inches from anyone in order to meet FCC guidelines which allow 1000 microwatts per centimeter squared – which is the same allowed by Safety Code 6. Looking more closely at the tests that were provided with the application, the router’s power density is outrageously high – crazy high.  It is likely that any user would have to read well into the manual to discover that the router must be kept at least 8 inches away.

Samsung’s FCC grant of approval confirms that the device includes 64 antennas across a beamforming 2×2 MIMO array, including 27.5GHz to 28.35GHz millimeter wave support, plus Bluetooth LE — but apparently no integrated 802.11 functionality, suggesting that it will require a separate Wi-Fi router, like some cable modems. Dear Honourable Minister Taylor

I was shocked when I received this response from your ministry.  The attachment “5G Americas White Paper on 5G Spectrum Recommendations- April 2017” is industry propaganda to support the implementation of 5G.

Had I received the document from your cohorts “across the hall”, ISED,  I would have expected no more from an agency that is more interested in promoting business interests than the health and well-being of Canadians.

Promoting  the use of 5G and the accompanying radio frequency is a direct attack on the health and well-being of Canadians.  The higher frequencies or millimeter wave lengths that 5 G  will use have had minimal testing  to determine whether they will cause biological harm on Canadians and a resulting increase in health care costs.   The studies that have been done consistently point to the probability of biological harm to not just humans but all flora and fauna.

Please for the health and well-being of all impose a moratorium on the deployment of 5G until it can be proven to be not harmful to Canadians.

Looking to Safety Code 6 is pointless as even according to the code itself it is only to protect against thermal effects and worse the code does not apply to most Canadians  as anything more than a guideline.

I know your office has received numerous scientific papers submitted by Canadians,  papers that consistently show  that radiation levels far less than enough to cause thermal reactions are damaging DNA and causing other health issues for living tissues including human.  Two recent studies are good examples of such papers: the results of the National Toxicology Program study into radiation and the study from the Ramazzini Institute in Bologna, Italy of papers showing biological harm at levels far lower than SC6.  Safety Code 6 is in desperate need of a revision. A revision that significantly lowers the allowable limits.  A revision that reflects the conditions under which most people now experience radiation.  Now ones prime source of radiation is a personal communication device and not the classic tower on a mountain top where few people go.Todays intensity of radiation is many orders of magnitude greater than the levels we evolved with.  It is polarized, modulated, pulsed and digital. None of which are found in nature.   We are also frequently exposed to near field radiation where the radiation does not follow the normal rules such as the inverse square law to express how radiation reduces at a distance from the source.  In the near field one can experience spectacular spikes and peaks of radiation which according to some researchers are as much as 100 times the predicted amount.

Conditions related to the Brillouin precursor and Sommerfeld precursor which can drive the effects of the radiation much deeper than the skin layers are not accounted for in the code.  The code is woefully inadequate and not reflective of the science related to microwave radiation. An immediate implementation of what is referred to as the Precautionary Standards or reduction to the allowable limits in Countries like Russia, China and India would be a good proactive move to protect the health of Canadians while the Safety Code is re written  and no maximum allowable limits are set.  Limits that when recent scientific studies are considered will be even lower or more protective than the limits imposed in some third world countries.

When can Canadians look forward to a meaningful revision of Safety Code 6?  Canadians health deserves to be protected as much as the health of residents in the third world.

Congratulations on your prestigious new appointment.

For years, I and many others corresponded with your predecessor, imploring him to act in accordance with the Hippocratic oath to which I trust both he and you agreed to adhere as members of the medical profession.  Our urgent concern was and remains the ever-increasing tsunami of wireless radiation to which all people and living things in B.C. are exposed.

Given the massive and ever-growing volume of scientific evidence indicating the considerable potential and documented risk these emissions pose to human health, it is truly beyond my comprehension how your predecessor allowed this trend to continue unabated for so many years.

My own medical doctor has provided me with a letter advising B.C. Hydro that, due to pre-existing medical conditions, I should not have a smart meter placed on my home.  Regardless, I have been extorted to pay them over $65/month (for two meters) for several years to keep wireless smart meters off my property.  I trust the fact that I have paid and continue to pay this exhorbitant amount offers some proof to you of my concern about this risk.  I own and operate no wireless devices (other than my wireless car key fob) for the same reason.

While this editorial may appear of peripheral interest, it directly concerns us all. As it should, the editorial title itself tells the story… a group of self-serving ‘fear mongers’ have twisted the facts (that the editorial is somehow privy to) and wishes to spread fear. This abusive editorial is in response to a recent presentation to Penticton city council by a group of concerned individuals regarding the potential for adverse health effects from emerging ‘5G’ microwave technologies. City councils receive many citizen presentations on a wide variety of topics. I assume many are well-researched and some are not. Among the thousands of presentations given to councils each year, it is highly significant that a community media outlet would go out of its way to not only single-out this particular topic, but to bully the participants with name-calling and what essentially amounts to a form of public shaming. The editorial is written with the dismissive attitude of someone with expert-level knowledge of the safety of electromagnetic radiation, remarkable considering ‘5G’ is new and completely untested and since no proof of safety exists, anywhere. It suggests the citizen presenters are fear-mongers which should be silenced for the good of society, lest listening to them give them credibility and a platform for their paranoia. It suggests council fulfill their tiresome public duties by appeasing them, then summarily dismiss their ‘offbeat’ ideas. Like an outbreak of typhoid fever, let’s snuff out the poisonous thoughts quickly lest they spread. What monumental arrogance. The citizens besmirched by the editorial were, after all, not advocating repulsive sexual practices or demanding action on UFO abductions. They were simply presenting, in good faith, their legitimate concerns, shared all over the world by citizen groups and thousands of scientists, over a new and untested technology being unleashed on them and their families without consultation. But the telling difference here, although we are strongly discouraged at all levels of society from seeing it, is the subject at the core of the presentation. ‘Wireless’, we are told, is the future of human society. To question that edict casts one into a social stigma akin to having open smallpox sores. The editorial uses words like ‘next stage of the evolution’, ‘promises’, ‘progressing’, ‘manifold benefits’. “We need wireless if we are to progress into the future” is the message. But the real thrust of the editorial is not translated into words. Usually subtle, but handled with the dexterity of clumpy flatulence in this editorial, is the implication that good citizens do not question ‘wireless’ (aka ‘the future of our economy’). These are the 1950’s communists reincarnated as tinfoil hats. Persecution is not only warranted, but publicly encouraged by our ‘free press’. Who, by the way, are usually owned by and in any case make a great deal of money selling advertising on behalf of wireless companies. There is no mention in the editorial of the fact that 200+ top-level international scientists who specialize in microwave research have recently petitioned the World Health Organization on an urgent basis for precautionary changes to reduce public wireless exposure levels. Apparently they, and thousands of other knowledgeable scientists who have signed similar petitions in the last two decades, also have ‘offbeat’ fear-mongering tendencies and require silencing. The official lie condoned by industry and a short-sighted media is that never-before experienced levels of chronic microwave radiation from untested technologies cannot possibly be harmful. One needs to ask… who benefits from such silence? If this technology is so safe, why would such a vicious name-calling response to inquiring citizens be necessary? Why would the newspaper pick this topic out of hundreds of others? Why would an editorial to shame them be needed? Why would the newspaper even care that citizens are concerned about this topic? Why wouldn’t the telecommunication companies simply agree to a public forum and explain to these misguided individuals the error of their ways? The very fact that this council presentation, which likely would have gone unnoticed, drew such a grossly disproportionate response reveals a great deal of the motivations behind the response. The editorial assures us that the many studies that show ‘no harm’ prove no harm. But they don’t. Studies that show ‘no harm’ are in fact worthless, you and I could have produced them, and a great many are generated by the wireless industry as per the tobacco industry. The average layperson who has not investigated the manipulation of science is simply unable to comprehend of the level of malfeasance, lies, and deception rampant in this area. In 2015 Dr. Richard Horton, then editor-in-chief of the ‘Lancet’, considered the most prestigious medical journal, admitted that half the studies in the publication were simply false. Just lies. Want a study showing ‘no harm’ from wireless? If you have the cash it’s not a problem. The $4 trillion wireless industry is brimming over with studies they funded showing ‘no harm’.  Only the studies that show harm are important and must be respected, and there are many of them currently being ignored by Health Canada and our other public health agencies ‘captured’ by the industry they supposedly regulate. The ‘Brazil Study’ by A.C. Dode, one of many examples, clearly shows substantial increases in cancer rates in persons living close to cell towers. But let’s not mention that. It’s a taboo topic. The wireless industry, as shown by their annual reports and the fact that two of the largest insurance companies in the world have recommended against providing them with personal liability insurance for the wireless products you probably use, are well aware of the potential dangers. But they are determined you won’t be. They know the science battle is one they can’t win on a level playing field, so they employ all means, like the asbestos and tobacco industries did, to discourage you from investigating or learning the truth. They know the best defense is a good offence, and by striking the shepherd the sheep will disperse. Any person pointing out potential dangers, whether scientist or citizen, is eligible for personal or professional attack, including the type of public slapdown this editorial delivers. It is below the mandate newspapers who claim to be operating in service to a community to be used in such a manner. It is far past time for the Provincial Health Office, which has lowered itself to a marketing resource for the wireless industry with its studied silence on the matter, to stop betraying the health of the citizens of this Province. There is overwhelming evidence suggesting harm if one looks only at independently funded studies, and certainly far more than is necessary to trigger the ‘precautionary principle’ which Canada subscribed to (in a legendary example of hypocrisy) at the Wingspread Conference of 1998. The Provincial Health Office needs to be completely removed from the political manipulation of government and its ‘smart meter’ type agendas that require their silence. The Provincial Health Officer should be completely immune from politics and able to speak freely on any health-related topic without fear of dismissal. Under the current system the office better serves the wireless and chemotherapy industries than public health. The Penticton citizens who made this presentation are performing a public service in a vacuum created by the failure of our public health system coupled with the willful blindness of legislators at every level. They are sounding an alarm all of us should pay attention to. Maybe these citizens are wrong. But if they are, so are thousands of scientists around the world. And even if you don’t agree with them, they are representing your right to free expression and to question authority. It is a reflection of the sad state of our corporatocracy that truth and leadership no longer comes from the top, but bubbles up from the bottom where it’s been relegated, assuming it’s not strangled in infancy by our grotesquely misnamed ‘news media’. It now appears to be only individual citizens and small community groups, untainted by corporate influence, who have the courage to speak it. An apology should be issued by the Penticton Western News. And Penticton council should take this citizen presentation seriously and do their due diligence, which means looking beyond the Provincial Health Office and Health Canada for convenient answers. Did an  independent professional electrical engineer licensed in BC certify these meters to be safe? If so, please provide that certification.   3)   ITRON and BC Hydro are basing financial projections of the program on a 20 year life expectancy, even though the industry acknowledges that smart meters’ life expectancy is 5-7 years. What is the warranty for these ITRON meters? 4)   How many smart meters have been replaced and what are the reasons for doing so?   5)   With the signed authorization of the victim of a smart meter fire, who inspected the smart meter after it was removed from scene before the fire inspector could complete his job?   6)   Independent electrical engineers have identified many design flaws in the meter, one of which has never been included in tests done by ITRON, ANSI or BC Hydro. When told than an agency did test the component, I was run in a circle for the results, and eventually, after many months, BC Hydro said that they could not tell me anything about the results due to Section 21 of the FOI Act. Minister Sims, in every instance I was told, after several months, that the information was not being provided because, under Section 21, to do so could “reasonably be expected to harm significantly the competitive position, or interfere significantly with the negotiating position, of the third party, or result in undue financial loss or gain to any person or organization. In essence, BC Hydro is protecting ITRON, at our expense. When I’ve complained to the Commission, they have told me that there is nothing that can be done. The Commission is limited in its reach, being able to respond only if the agency failed to respond. They have no authority to take action if the response is dishonest, disingenuous, or non-responsive. So, Minister Sims, what is the purpose of the Commission? The Act is being used by BC Hydro to refuse to grant information that is of significance to the public. These dangerous devices are on our homes, exposing our lives, the lives of our loved ones and our property to undue risk.  This was not the reason for the creation of the Act, and I would hope that you will address this misuse of this significant law. If you cannot fix it, then please do away with it entirely so that everyone knows that we have no hope to expect transparency in our government. 2)    A recent mailing from Hydro regarding solar power and a change to net metering:  Hydro is attempting, I believe, to preserve itself. Instead of extra fees like many states are charging people using wind or solar power, the production is being limited. Wouldn’t you think that if smeters were “green”, with the real purpose being to help reduce energy production, that more clean power being put back into the system would be encouraged?  Not Hydro. In addition this would make an community-based system more difficult  An initial application for this change has been submitted to BCUC to prevent any rush of applications for larger systems.  I hope that many will become involved, write Hydro, become interveners, etc.

Here is the application. I’ve read only the first 1/3 or so (the letter), but it appears that hydro is most concerned about the costs of the surplus energy being fed into the system at a rate lower than we are paying. I bet it would be cheaper on a per kWh basis than the electricity that will be provided from the many billion $$ Site C. People are spending their own money on the systems and then feed surplus energy into Hydro’s system at less than Hydro sells to other customers. This seems like a great deal to me.

3)    Last week a presentation was made before the Penticton City Council in which the request was made to hold a public forum to discuss concerns related to 5G. The local newspaper’s editor is unaware of the recent science and is using old and inaccurate information, calling any concerns “fear mongering”.  I hope you will consider writing to the editor at editor@pentictonwesternnews.com or here  https://www.pentictonwesternnews.com/contact-us/ .Even though the paper is part of Black Press if enough people write with accurate and current info about the Ramazzini and NTP reports, for example, perhaps even this paper will print a few letters.  Let’s hope.  Has your city council been made aware of microcells and 5G?

Fortunately the Council has agreed on the public forum. The Mayor says the council has not been approached re. 5G, but I wonder if he has been approached by Telus about installing microcells. Telus is not necessarily telling anyone about the microcells being the infrastructure for 5G.

4)    The Australian anti-smeter group has become aware of the issue of dirty electricity caused by the smeter’s switch mode power supply. Any digital meter, not just the smeter, has the SMPS. This is one more reason that the digital meter is far more dangerous and undesirable than the analog.  In this article, the issue is described very simply and clearly.

Hydro Evil plans in Vancouver & Gov employees being attacked! posted April 17/18

1)    Regarding Hydro’s desire to build a substation beneath a school in Vancouver, here is an Environmental Petition submitted to the Canadian Auditor General in 2007 by Gerry Higgins, from Newfoundland. After his young wife developed breast cancer, his mission was to find out why. He learned that many people in Newfoundland who lived near substations and transformers had developed cancers of various types. He was asking for an independent study of this relationship and, if one was confirmed, require the utility to move the equipment away from homes.  I don’t know if such a study took place, but this is what BC Hydro wants to put under a school and in all likelihood the substation would be larger, with more powerful utility lines that those in the small towns in Newfoundland.

3)    A paper presented to the industry (IEEE) regarding 5G – and, yes, it will be worse than we’ve been told. The exposure levels will be significantly higher from the microcells than with the current cellular system!!  Of course this varies with the type of antennae (is this assuming phased array designs?), frequencies, etc.  A couple of very critical factors are the proximity of the transmitters (cell towers) to the homes and the huge number of them in a concentrated area.

Abstract

While cellular communications in millimeter wave (mmW) bands have been attracting significant research interest, their potential harmful impacts on human health are not as significantly studied. Prior research on human exposure to radio frequency (RF) fields in a cellular communications system has been focused on uplink only due to the closer physical contact of a transmitter to a human body. However, this paper claims the necessity of thorough investigation on human exposure to downlink RF fields, as cellular systems deployed in mmW bands will entail (i) deployment of more transmitters due to smaller cell size and (ii) higher concentration of RF energy using a highly directional antenna. In this paper, we present human RF exposure levels in downlink of a Fifth Generation Wireless Systems (5G). Our results show that 5G downlink RF fields generate significantly higher power density (PD) and specific absorption rate (SAR) than a current cellular system. This paper also shows that SAR should also be taken into account for determining human RF exposure in the mmW downlink.

2)    Wireless devices can cause sleep problems. The microwave radiation has been shown to reduce melatonin production. In addition, screens from computers, tablets, etc. emit blue light that, too, affects melatonin. Children are suffering psychologically due to lack of sleep.

3)    In the UK, prices for gas are increased due, in large part, to the costs of the smeter program.  The promise of reduced costs is never realized.

4)    Re. above ground transmission lines proposed by BC Hydro. The fields will be dangerously high, and people are asking for the powerlines, will be close to homes, be put underground. Hydro is ignoring the health risk.

However, a continuous 24/7 emission of 2,000 mG for adjacent residents would be fatal; the maximum emission under such transmission lines are about 190-200 mG worldwide, while the Toronto Public Health Report (2008) indicates risks for long-term health effects with above 1mG constant long-term emissions (living close to power lines). BC Hydro’s EMF allowance of 2,000 mG is used in the wrong context and may be rather relate to (1) lethal EMF emission at one time, (2) short-term maximum EMF allowance (few minutes), or (3) additive EMF emission allowance per year or lifetime for living adjacent to power lines.”
